Mobile teams have been formed to provide assistance. They include speech therapists, psychologists, medical professionals, physical therapy instructors, and social workers who have undergone specialized training. The teams work with each individual according to a personalized program.
During social rehabilitation, various methods are used to develop speech and motor activity, along with specialized equipment, including mobile units. For example, the Purovsky District has “Adeli” and “Atlant” therapeutic suits. They are used in sessions with children who have neurological disorders and cerebral palsy (CP). The suits help normalize muscle tone, increase joint mobility, and improve posture and motor coordination.
Nine-year-old Valeria from Korotchaevo is currently undergoing a rehabilitation course. Specialists are holding sessions at the “Arktika” sports school.
“My daughter comes back from the sessions very happy. For us, massage and physical therapy are absolutely essential—they help develop motor skills. The specialists also provide us with psychological support,” says the girl’s mother, Yulia.
The first three micro-rehabilitation centers in Yamal were opened in 2021 in Novy Urengoy, Labytnangi, and the Priuralsky District. There are now nine of them. They operate out of all Yamal social service centers. Assistance is provided to children with special needs, adults with disabilities, and the elderly.
