In the Moscow region, children with disabilities can undergo rehabilitation in social institutions.
Over the course of two years, 70 patients with cerebral palsy and other illnesses and injuries underwent rehabilitation here.
Alexandra Afanasyeva was born on January 30, 2001, at 31 weeks, weighing 1,480 grams and measuring 43 centimeters in length. The first week of her life was spent in intensive care, and then she was transferred to a children's hospital in very serious condition, where she remained for another month and a half.
Masha Kharlamova was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth. Her intellectual abilities are within the normal range, but she has severe damage to her musculoskeletal system. She cannot walk on her own, her arms do not function well, and she moves around with support on her shoulders and in a wheelchair. Physical activity—individual therapeutic exercise—is therefore vital for her. It is important for her to exercise three times a week, but her family's financial situation does not allow for this.
