Alexandra Afanasyeva was born on January 30, 2001, at 31 weeks, weighing 1,480 grams and measuring 43 centimeters in length. The first week of her life was spent in intensive care, and then she was transferred to a children's hospital in very serious condition, where she remained for another month and a half. However, hypoxia and birth trauma left their mark, and at the age of one, the girl was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Since her discharge from the hospital, Alexandra's life and that of her family has become a daily struggle with illness: daily massage, therapeutic exercises several times a day, swimming, physical therapy, drug therapy—in short, everything necessary to treat a child with such a diagnosis.

Despite her illness, Sasha is a smart, kind, and responsive girl. In 2022, she graduated with honors from the College of Modern Management, Faculty of Law and Social Security Organization (distance learning), and received a law degree. She plans to continue her education in this field, but at a university. She loves reading, especially classical literature, listening to music, and drawing. She also really wants to start walking on her own, without assistance!

Thanks to the generosity of caring people, the Movement to Achievement Foundation was able to raise funds for another course of rehabilitation, which Sasha successfully completed in June this year. We would like to thank all of the Foundation's partners, thanks to whom Alexandra has taken another step towards improving her quality of life!
