Within the framework of the round table, specialists in the field of neurology and medical genetics, leading researchers from the scientific advisory department of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “N.P. Bochkov Moscow Research Center for Neurology and Psychiatry,” Evgenia Alexandrovna Melnik, MD, and Natalia Alexandrovna Semenova, MD, consulted and gave their conclusions based on the results of genetic studies conducted on 14 families with children with cerebral palsy.A free genetic testing program for cerebral palsy in children was launched by the Movement to Achieve Foundation in February this year and is still running. The aim of the program is to refine diagnoses and provide medical and genetic counseling based on the results of molecular genetic testing in order to develop personalized treatment approaches.
