Rehabilitation course
Vladik is a long-expected and the only child in the family. He was born at 39 weeks of pregnancy by cesarean section due to the transverse position of the fetus, weighing 3580 g, length 52 cm. His Apgar score was 8/9. On the fifth day she was discharged home from the hospital. After discharge the baby was restless, he had tummy aches (colic), the baby slept badly, often cried. Then they began to notice that the child was inactive, could hardly hold his head, did not want to lie on his tummy, cried. In due time he did not sit down, did not try to crawl, stand up. The neurologist diagnosed “perinatal encephalopathy”. As well as increased muscle tone. At the age of 8 months began to undergo courses of treatment in the rehabilitation center of his city. Massage, physical therapy, electrophoresis, the treatment gave a little result, the child began to turn over, crawl. Then after a year the child began to stand on a support, crawl on all fours. By the age of two began to move on a walker. It was hard to believe, but at the age of one year and 3 months he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy - spastic diplegia GMFCS - level 3, then he was given a disability certificate. Vladik is a very cheerful and affectionate boy. He likes to play with cars, watch cartoons. He loves music lessons, listening to fairy tales, he has learned to count, he really likes to make mathematical examples. At the end of 2021, after a consult with a neurosurgeon, a spinal surgery was recommended - selective dorsal rhizotomy, which was performed in March 2022. After the operation, the tone in the legs decreased noticeably, the child stood on his heels, although before he walked only on his toes. Further, a rehabilitation course was scheduled, which gave a very good result: Vladik took his first independent steps, learned to step over obstacles, sit down and stand up independently. But this is not enough - to start walking independently, we need constant, long-term work in this direction. According to doctors, Vlad has a very good rehabilitation potential and preserved intelligence. He also has a good memory, he quickly remembers and learns everything. He likes to study with specialists. However, we cannot afford to pay for rehabilitation ourselves. We hope for help!
