Lera is the third and youngest child in the family. After the two boys, the parents were happy to learn that they would have a girl. The pregnancy was normal. The tests were good, screenings and ultrasounds too. There were no threats of pregnancy termination - as well as indications for hospitalization for preservation. The baby was born at 40 weeks. The birth was difficult and prolonged, with premature amniotic fluid drainage. The anhydrous period amounted to 16 hours. However, when the baby was born, doctors said that everything was fine, the girl was healthy. Examination in a month also did not reveal any abnormalities. It was only from 5-6 months that the relatives began to notice that the daughter was lagging behind in motor development. They began to go to doctors. Specialists assured that there is nothing serious, that it happens: prescribed massage, swimming pool, gymnastics. Time passed, and the developmental lag became more and more obvious. Eventually, when Lera was one year old, in St. Olga Hospital in St. Petersburg was diagnosed with cerebral palsy - spastic diplegia (level 3). The parents began a battle for their daughter's health. The girl repeatedly underwent rehabilitation courses in centers in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Penza. In between they practiced in their native Novgorod. As a result, Lera now stands on a support, sits on her own without support, walks with support. On the intellectual level, everything is quite good. She speaks about 20 words, understands addressed speech, her development practically corresponds to the norm. The specialists' prognosis is optimistic. Lerochka has every chance to walk independently, attend a regular school and lead a full-fledged life, but this will not be achieved without constant rehabilitation.
