Platon can’t wait to grow up, become an astronaut, and visit all the planets. In the meantime, he loves going to the zoo and the Darwin Museum with his mom, looking at pinnipeds, and drawing walruses. He is full of curiosity, creativity, and big dreams. But now the little boy needs help to recover from surgery and continue learning how to move. Platon's parents waited five years for him. They welcomed him into the world prematurely, at 29 weeks of pregnancy, weighing just 1,400 grams. The first two and a half months were spent in the hospital. The little boy was discharged home with a whole list of diagnoses. Progress was not easy for Platosha. It wasn’t until he was one year old that he learned to roll over, and at one year and two months, doctors diagnosed him with cerebral palsy. The family worked with their son every day. He gradually grew stronger, and by the time he was nearly two years old, he was able to stand with support under his arms. According to his mother, after surgery in 2019, Platon lost the skills he had acquired, and his muscle stiffness worsened. It took a lot of effort once again to help him regain his mobility. Daily classes became a regular part of the family’s life. In January 2023, the boy underwent surgery to reduce muscle tone. However, orthopedic problems persisted: hip dislocation began to progress. In July 2024, another surgical procedure was required, involving the insertion of metal implants. Now, Platon needs a course of postoperative rehabilitation. Sessions with specialists should help him strengthen his muscles, restore his motor abilities, and work on his sitting and walking skills in accordance with his doctors’ recommendations. During years of treatment, the family has learned to notice and appreciate their son’s every achievement. Things that come easily to other children are the result of long, hard work for Platon. His parents continue to support him and try to make sure there’s time between sessions for walks, his favorite animals, and drawing. Now the family is seeking help to pay for an intensive course. The parents cannot manage this on their own. Please support Platon. Your donation will help the boy receive the necessary rehabilitation and continue on his path toward greater independence. Let there always be enough energy left for childhood discoveries alongside his challenging daily sessions.
