Artem’s Story

Artem was born prematurely at 30 weeks, the first of twin brothers. His twin brother, Timur, was also later diagnosed with cerebral palsy. When Artem was just a year and a half old, his parents heard the diagnosis that would change their family’s life forever. From that moment on, they began a long journey to improve their son’s health and quality of life. One rehabilitation program followed another. The family traveled to Yevpatoria, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Smolensk, and other cities, trying every opportunity that might help Artem. He has also undergone three difficult hip surgeries.Hospitals, recovery, therapy, another trip, another doctor… Yet Artem continued to grow, explore the world around him, and bring joy to his loved ones with every small victory. Artem loves to draw. When he has paints in front of him, he becomes so absorbed that it seems like he forgets everything else around him. He also enjoys working with modeling clay and building with construction sets. He can spend a long time putting pieces together and creating something of his own, and he is always delighted when his idea comes to life. Artem is a curious and cheerful boy. But many of the everyday things that other children do without thinking require enormous effort from him and his family. Artem needs to be transferred, lifted, and carried every day. When he was little, his mother was able to manage this on her own. But as he has grown older and heavier, doing this manually has become increasingly difficult and unsafe. Artem urgently needs an electric patient lift. This is not simply a piece of equipment or an attempt to make everyday life a little more convenient. For a family caring for a child with severe motor impairments, a patient lift has become an essential part of his daily care. Every donation, no matter how small, brings the family closer to reaching this goal. And with it, they move closer to something much more important: giving Artem the opportunity to live a safe and dignified life surrounded by the people who care for him every day.
