This year's marathon participants included an inclusive tandem team. Running tandems are increasingly common at races. This time for the first time a visually impaired athlete pushed a wheelchair with a person and ran the marathon. For German Govor it is the first such experience of sports volunteering.

In total there were 12 people in the tandem team. In the wheelchair sat athlete with cerebral palsy Alexander Korneichuk, and with him ran German Govor, Marianna Karpycheva - a girl with visual impairment, ultramarathoner and “chief of running tandems” Andrei Yakovlev, as well as marathoners and ultramarathoners Denis Chernenko, Maxim Shvets, Andrei Balashov, Ekaterina Yakimenko, Samat Khadiullin, Natalia Skvortsova, Nadezhda Ivanova.

“The wheelchair with Alexander was pushed in turn by the whole team,” explained Andrei Yakovlev, head of Freedom of Movement, ”Herman is not total blind, but simply with visual limitations, so he ran without a para-link, just volunteer Maxim Shvets accompanied him. Marianna also had such a volunteer - Nadezhda Ivanova. I must say that Herman took a very responsible approach to the task: he pushed uphill for quite a long time”.
